Michael Brown is an oil painter, printmaker and photographer working in the post-impressionist tradition, focusing primarily on landscapes.
Michael works mostly in oil, applying the paint with a palette knife to create texture that compliments his use of colour.
Michael is renowned for his contemporary Irish landscape monotypes.
He creates his monotypes by applying ink directly onto a plate and manipulating to create an image, before taking a one-off print on his press.
Michael creates collagraph prints by constructing a collage on cardboard and then covering it with tinfoil to create a 'plate'. He then inks the plate by hand and makes a limited-edition print run on his press.
Michael has recently relocated to Liverpool and joined Hub Studios in June 2019
